Im learning Cantonese and have been paying for the basic membership for almost 2 months. The podcasts are so helpful! I tried about 5 apps before this and this one is by far the best!

This is a must have for anyone wanting to study Japanese seriously. I have been using Japanesepod 101 since 2009 and subscribed to their basic service for a year. After which I used downloaded episodes to study. The lessons have always been fun and the hosts are great at explaining vocal and grammar. This app takes everything to a whole new level. As a person who is driving a lot, I use this app everyday on my way to work (in a spaced review fashion). It is rocking me out of the intermediate plateau into the advanced level with minima effort. The app does almost everything for you with line by line audio, PDFs, etc. As a person that has high frequency hearing loss, listening is tough, so seeing the dialogue and the commentary is invaluable for leveling up. Ive been using this app for about a week, from absolute beginner in Russian. I have not explored its full functionality, but I am very, very happy with the lesson recordings, vocabulary lists, and overall usability. (4 stars because other functions havent been obvious in the little time Ive had to use it... An optional tutorial might be useful?)

Tried a bunch of apps and books for conversational Japanese and this app is by far the best you can get. You can cater your learning from basic to full blown. Highly recommend.

I was mind blown once I realized that my $1 purchase included: 37 days of premium membership, 30 downloadable Lessons, the basic bootcamp series (+60 audio lessons with mp3 and PDF you can download, print, and burn on CDs). The $1 promotion also included 1 free download from their language store. You can download 1 software, audio, or PDF learning material that they sell for free. Even the most expensive one for $0 With my premium membership promotion (yes, Im still talking about the $1) I also get to use this APPs extra features and track my progress. I havent explored their whole website and Im already in love with all the high quality content Ive been given. Im barely on lesson 3 and Im already receiving emails with their 7-day fluency fast course plan and a notice that Im also qualified for their, leap year promotion, which ends on March 7th. Granted, it will soon end, but I literally just had to click on it and received 11 MP3s with over an hour of everyday Cantonese actions and activities...which again, you can download and keep in your Ipad forever! This is the best $1 Ive ever invested in my life. I cant even buy anything at McDonalds with $1 in San Francisco anymore (and since I visit the bay area often, thats why I learn Cantonese). This app and company kicks the butt out of any legal app (and illegal downloads) and you dont even run the risk of accidentally installing viruses like you do when downloading pirated software. Enjoy this App that is full of surprises and free goodies :)

So I am trying to learn Japanese for a few reasons. I love the language, I enjoy watching Japanese Animation but I love the original voices but I want to understand without subtitles, and my family and I want to go to Japan and I would love to be able to travel without some translation book. I have had this program for two days of my 7 day perceives and I am seriously considering buying the monthly subscription. Pretty awesome app with access to videos, audio, and written guides. Fantastic app.

Ive wanted to learn Japanese for over 10 years, but I never found something that worked for me until I found this 2 years ago. The lessons break everything down in a way that makes it easy to understand, and the lessons and dialogue are interesting and keep my attention. I love it.

I love learning Japanese. Looking at the vocabulary, listening to it and hearing the review helps.

There are a million lessons to choose from of all levels. I like the fact that each lesson has multiple reinforcements of written and sound files. A little irritating that theres a lot of extra song and explanation on each lesson, but you can just started 15 seconds into and skip the intro. Being a complete beginner I appreciate the survival lessons and the fact that you can skip around and choose what you want to learn.

This app offers so much. I first studied a language in high school during the 1970s. How did we learn ANYTHING without the internet? I love all the resources that come with my subscription and use it to study every morning and evening.

I am an American-English native speaker learning Hebrew with no starting knowledge. The "Absolute Beginner" Hebrew lessons (which come from HebrewPod101.com) are very thorough and informative. The lessons come with audio, lesson notes in English with respective Hebrew word/phrase, line-by-line transcripts, you can pause the audio lesson at any point and even speed up the lesson. Im still using my free 7 day trial. I will probably purchase the full version once the trial is up. Subscription package range from $4.99/month to $24.99/month in which you get full access to the above mentioned website and one-on-one lessons with a teacher. This is a wonderful app with a very reasonable price!!!

5 stars! The people who help build the lessons did a fantastic job! They explain pretty much everything and break it down. I am studying Japanese. Paying for the premium pack is so worth it if youre seriously and persistently studying the language. No regrets with this! I recommend anyone learning a second language to give this app and their website a try. Thank you so much :)

Ive only been using japanesepod101 for 3 hours and Ive already learned to much. Everything is broken down very simply so its easy to comprehend. Im looking forward to learning more.

This is a cut above the other language apps I have used and seems worth subscribing for Japanese!

This app has a good breakdown of the language with a healthy amount of other resources besides just the lesson audio.
